I am on BT Infinity and decided to try and stream to Twitch. This was the result on lowest quality: Rikev - BT Infinity Stream Test - Twitch

Running BT speed test, I get this: imgur: the simple image sharer

Is it really common to have an upload speed only a quarter of the upload profile for the line? This doesn't seem acceptable to me since it is affecting how I use the service. :/

It doesn't seem quite right. Have you checked all your wiring?

It would be odd that the BT speed test gives a bad result on their product.

Try different speed tests at different times of day.

BT basically said this is normal when I rung them and offered the same service for 21 a month. They are about to lose Broadband and two line rentals to Virgin who are the only FTTP provider in the area and we are already using for cable TV.

HAHAHAHA! The :censored: are extorting £55 out of me to cancel in the form of a defferred hub charge.

12Mps on Infinity? Something's not quite right there.

Especially 0.8mi from the exchange. Hence ditching them. But wait...Virgin can't switch us until the 18th, so to get BT to re-arrange the cancellation date of the 10th to the 17th I have to cancel the cancellation, wait 24 hours, and cancel it again with BT.

Rang up and cancelled just to be told there is a £30 charge for disconnecting the line and removing equipment from the exchange! Err...not likely! They backpedalled when I made it quite clear the first guy who initially cancelled didn't tell me about yet another stealth charge for leaving BT.

That would have been me shelling out £85 just to ditch BT Infinity!

I have had less issues with Sky than I did with virgin (who put up prices when they feel like it) and BT (who give shocking service). Been with sky now for 4 years. Before that BT for 2 years and before that virgin for 3 years.

Virgin were ok, but they were very happy to disconnect you if you didnt pay by the day the payments needed to be made (I always did it on the day) and took anywhere up to a week to reconnect services. BT were just shocking, drop outs, home hubs failing, nothing good about them. With sky I have had 1 router change and that was because I broke the first one and got the new one for free (I broke it by trying to fix the wifi and increase its range! haha).
