hallb15 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 @zag do you use a GBIC fibre module with any of your netgear switches? I'm having an issue getting mine to accept the GBIC module is present.
Dantech Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Hi I had exactly your problem a couple of years ago. I searched the internet and struggled to find a simple article explaining the basics of VLANs. I learnt a lot from forums on Edugeek and sought help from colleagues in other schools. Setting up VLANs on HP switches is easy if you know what you are doing! Like anything, it is hard if you don't understand it.
caffrey Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I use GBICS, mix of SMC and Netgear ones, some switches can be fussy with makes - not sure which are compatible with these switches so to play it safe I've stuck to netgear from now. 1
Ex-MGSTech Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I'm just installing a mix of 2920-24 POE and 2920-48 all linked by stacking modules and then 10Gb SPP Modules back to our core. so far I'm very happy with them.
