fiza Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 We are currently running a trial of Papercut and I want to look into Release Stations. I would like to have a Kiosk machine in the LRC that students can walk upto and release their jobs. I would want the machine already logged in and sat at the web login screen of the papercut release station. I would want it locked to this so they cannot do anything other than login to papercut and release their job. Is this possible? is anyone using it like this and if so how did you configure the PC/Papercut.
soveryapt Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) I've got PaperCut MF here. I think (from what I remember when I fired it up once) it pretty much locks itself down to that anyway, but I'll try and take a ganders. You could essentially just have an old machine with Linux on set to only run it, that way it doesn't need to be anything fancy, could even be an old laptop or something, and is purely built for that purpose. I was considering it here until we got machines that do the whole pin code release thing with the device ESA .. EDIT: You could of course just have a web interface on a computer and lock it to a single address (http://:9191/release) and use that instead of the release client as well, or have a link to this interface on an Intranet Page or something? Big_Ted Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 You have various options to release a print job (at a MFD, mobile, web page etc) but from the looks of it you want to use the release station software not the web based release page. You can then lock it down easily and configure it how you like: Release Station Configuration 1

fiza Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 @andyturpie - Thank you for the offer. Shall certainly keep it in mind. Currently looks like we wont be using release stations but if that changes I will arrange a visit. 1
