Solus2 had them in a nice handy area, but Solus3 hides them away. Anyone know where I can find the SIMS client files from the Solus3 server?

There are none essentially with SOLUS3. It keeps them in a unique pkg format. They are all downloaded and stored in the SOLUS3 Repository share dir.

Thanks

I've not got Solus3 here but it would be handy to have the files for another school. I'll report back later!

Mind if I ask for what reason? They would be no good unless you have SOLUS3, and if the other school lost them for any reason, or they became corrupt, they could just instantly re-download them in SOLUS3.

A school has multiple domains but are having issues with deploying to some of them. If the 3 sims programs can be extracted they can be installed on clients without using crappy solus3 (not working on some domains) then they can get SIMS working on these troublesome clients short term without doing major work (they are moving to a new domain soon anyway).

The 3 core SIMS files (simsapplication, simsmanual and simsampark) can be extracted from the PKG file from a SIMS Solus3 server.

These SIMS client files can then be installed on PCs without Solus3 agent and without having to deploy with Solus3.

Just put a call in for the installer files then, save you mucking about extracting them. Or copy the SIMS .net folder from a working machine.

The school in question had been waiting a week for capita to get back to them on various SIMS issues, didn't take long to extract the files.
