Theblacksheep Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Solus2 had them in a nice handy area, but Solus3 hides them away. Anyone know where I can find the SIMS client files from the Solus3 server?

There are none essentially with SOLUS3. It keeps them in a unique pkg format. They are all downloaded and stored in the SOLUS3 Repository share dir.

Mind if I ask for what reason? They would be no good unless you have SOLUS3, and if the other school lost them for any reason, or they became corrupt, they could just instantly re-download them in SOLUS3. A school has multiple domains but are having issues with deploying to some of them. If the 3 sims programs can be extracted they can be installed on clients without using crappy solus3 (not working on some domains) then they can get SIMS working on these troublesome clients short term without doing major work (they are moving to a new domain soon anyway).
Theblacksheep Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 The 3 core SIMS files (simsapplication, simsmanual and simsampark) can be extracted from the PKG file from a SIMS Solus3 server. These SIMS client files can then be installed on PCs without Solus3 agent and without having to deploy with Solus3.
matt40k Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Just put a call in for the installer files then, save you mucking about extracting them. Or copy the SIMS .net folder from a working machine. 1
