Hi

At home i have my computer in the office and a 32" Sony LCD tv in the lounge (rooms are next door to each other). What i want to do is play movies of my pc on my tv i can get a vga cable and run it through the wall but that wont do the sound will it?!?

The second output on my graphics card is dvi but i can always get a dvi-vga adapter. Is there a lead available that does sound as well as picture a vga to phono/scart would be perfect but dont know if such a thing exists.

Thanks

Dan

On a similar subject!

I am just about to build a media centre PC and can't decide how to connect it to my Plasma TV.

I'm looking for the best possible picture quality and have the choice of the following connections:

VGA

S-Video

DVI

Component

Composite

Having ‘googled’ it I found a rather long thread that in the end came out with a majority saying VGA.

Could I ask what you good people on here think!

HDMI does sound but is crazy expensive for long lengths.

I recently bought a PC to hook up to a housemate's high def LCD so I just use a DVI-HDMI cable (my card will support up to 1080p or something liek that) but has no HDMI ports so a convertor seems to do the job.

Thanks i will buy a 10m vga cable and 10m jack to phono cable.

I have a 10m hdmi cable at home that one of our whiteboard installers gave to me during the summer. I was helping him put his tools back in his van and he had a stack and i said christ there a fortune and youve got hundreds! he through one at me and said there you go!! just waitng for the 360 elite to come down a bit and my 360 might 'break' and get an elite

HDMI>Component=DVI=VGA>S-Video=Composite

@ Geoff, can I just confirm that you are saying:

The Best is HDMI (which I don't have)

followed then by Component (which I do have but.....)

followed then by DVI etc. etc.

Okay the but, although my Plasma has a componet in, my graphics card doesn't have a component out, but I know i can get adaptors to convert, so if I did use the component in on the Plasma which would I take it out from on the graphics card, the DVI, S-video or VGA!
