Science Lab inventory software

Hello,

 

I've just been asked my opinion of some software our lab technicians were thinking of getting. I won't post a link because I think it's rubbish (MS access based with dodgy looking support). Does anyone know what software is generally in use to inventory science equipment and chemicals? I suspect most people use spreadsheets...

Spreadsheets? Scraps of paper here up to now. I think the chemists do have a spreadsheet, and I am now working on something. Access would be a step forward...

Would they also have a package for room bookings, and some sort event manager app?
