Windows Store - Billing information?

Hi,

 

Trying to install and try out some apps that teachers have enquired about, but when i've gone into the store (for the first time in a while), I'm now prompted to provide billing details with either a paypal account or credit card.

 

Is there a way around this similar to the apple app store? Installed plenty of apps in the past without providing any billing information.
