Taking old DNS & DHCP Server Down

Hi All,

 

I am trying to remove our old dns and dhcp server off the network.

 

I have set the dhcp and dns up on a new server and all the records have went across fine.

 

The problem i am having is when i take the old one offline it shows up errors in the new one saying it cant find the old dns and dhcp.

 

Why would this be? I remove all the replication but it still does it.

 

If i restart the new dns and dhcp server when the old one is taken off it cant connect to them which i find strange.

DNS first, can you tell us if this is Domain integrated DNS?

Yes it is Domain Integrated DNS.

First migrate any FMSO roles and then remove it correctly using DCPROMO
