SENIOR IT/NETWORK TECHNICIAN

(37 hours per week, full year)

 

Salary based on Roedean NTS Points 25-29 (22,567 - £25,847)

 

to support the operation of IT services and infrastructure across the school.

 

The successful candidate will be a hard working team player with a wide range of IT skills. You will have experience of Microsoft server technologies, (Windows Server 2012 core technologies - AD, Group policy etc.), Exchange 2010 or 2013 and virtualization platforms such as Hyper V or Vmware. You should be proficient in using Powershell, batch/VB scripting and be able to carry out basics operations within a unix shell.

 

 

You should have a good understanding of wireless network technologies, experience with corporate solutions from vendors such as Ruckus, Aruba, Meru, or Cisco will be beneficial.

 

You will have the budgetary responsibility for the schools telephone services and equipment and also liaise with the third party support vendors that maintain our telephony and wireless systems.

 

This role is predominately second line based however, you should ideally have some experience in customer support (retail and/or IT help desk) and be willing to support the three members of first line support when required.

 

You will have at least 2-3 years’ experience working in the IT industry and should have a relevant technical degree or industry qualifications - ideally above the basic levels. (For example Microsoft MCSA, MCSE or Cisco CCNA)

 

Experience of corporate telephone systems (ISDN/VOIP) such as Simens HIPath is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 would also be useful.
