TMODAlpha Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Hi all, Currently having a play with smoothwall express. Got advproxy installed and its working great with the URL filter, SARG etc. I got LDAP working, but for this you must authenticate every session. I've been trying to get Windows authentication working along with Windows integrated authentication. I've the domain formatted as domain.local PDC as dc1.domain.local which using the IP tools is resolved and pings When prompted to authenticate i've tried: domain\user user@domain [email protected] So far none work, and when using integrated authentication is will take a while to process then give an access denied page. Any ideas? Is there anything I need to do within AD for this to work, because i'd expect it to allow me to input a username in the settings but there is nowhere for this. Thanks
SHimmer45 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Advanced Proxy add-on for IPCop and SmoothWall might be of some use although some of it is a little old. smoothwall express is soon to release V3.1 which has alot of mods of 3 built into it

Already looked at that, but the specifics of how things should be formatted are a little vague. I had a look at the RC, but it didnt install very well. Might have a play with that now.
SHimmer45 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 there is an RC3/4 release which there is a link for download actually inside the forums, however i dont think ADV proxy has been ported to 3.1 yet..
TMODAlpha Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 Ah right, I was hoping that would be one of the features included. Will check it out now.
Nick_Parker Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 @TMODAlpha I'm busy playing around with Smoothwall Express 3 at the moment and have hit the same problem - did you ever figure it out?

Nope, ended up just using LDAP in the end. It's a small number of users that are going to use it anyway so I decided that it wasn't worth the headache for integrated authentication.
