How Google handles its large scale Mac infrastructure

CanHazImage sounds similar to AutoDMG and FileWave Lightning. Google released Cauliflower Vest early last year.

 

Basically, they have to make their own tools as Apple simply won't do anything for the enterprise space.

Walt Disney Animation Studios had to do the same. They created an open source tool called Reposado which enables you to setup a Software Update Service server on non-Apple hardware. It also had several features that Apple's own SUS lacks.

 

"There was a time when Macs were a small part of the Google fleet, but as of now if you start at Google and want to use a platform other than Mac you have to make a business case," says Clay.

Even Chromebooks? :confused:
