Signing In to Windows 8 device with O365 account

Morning all,

 

Is it possible to sign into a new Windows 8 device with a Office365 account?

 

I ask because we are trialing O365 and have some new Acer Iconia W510 devices and seeing how a staff user will make use of the device. I've tried to login with a newly created o365 account (A2 Plan) but says that the user needs to create a new Microsoft account!

 

The one i am testing with i logged in with my hotmail account, but of course the skydrive app sync's with that account rather than my school owned account.

I can personally create a new user and sign in with my school account,but i think it lets me because i've added various microsoft logins to that account like volume licencing, whereas other wont of.

No, this is not possible.

 

You are right in assuming it works for you because you've already got a Microsoft account linked to the same email address because of your VL sign-in.

 

Once you are signed in you can install the SkyDrive Pro app and sign into that with an O365 account to access your O365 files, but it doesn't sync the same way the regular SkyDrive does, which is unfortunate.
