Philip60 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 One of my servers refuses to boot from CD, (or network) no matter what boot settings I put in BIOS. It just tries to boot from the RAIDed HDDs. I need to use the W2003 repair console to get Server 2003 back up, as I'm getting the message "Load DLLs needed for kernel". So I'm thinking, can I put the adaptec RAID PCI card along with its disks in another PC? If the RAID config is stored on the card's memory, it's independent of the motherboard, right? Or not?! Or is there a simpler way?
twin--turbo Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Usualy. The raid card can be moved. The card may ask where you want to load the config ( from the adapter or from the on-disk config ) so long as the disks are kept on the same connections and in the same order then either should work.
