Ranger User Manager - Unable to connect to the RAM server in a timely manner

We're using Ranger 8.0.0.0 and recently replaced our 2003 Storage server and overlooked that it was the also RAM Server. It didn't run any other ranger services fortunately but now I've got problems creating users.

 

I've installed RAM server 2.1.0.70 on one of our 2008R2 Domain Controllers and installed the RAM client too.

This seems to work ok but only on the server, when I try to run RAM client 2.1.0.70 on anything else, server or workstation it fails to connect to the RAM server with the error "Unable to connect to the RAM server in a timely manner"

 

I'm sure I've seen this before but I can't remember the fix, can anyone help????

Hi there - Firstly when you install the client software, make sure its the same version as the version on the server. You then need to open port 55001 on the firewall on the server and client machine. hope that helps.
