About Toad555

  1. We're using Ranger 8.0.0.0 and recently replaced our 2003 Storage server and overlooked that it was the also RAM Server. It didn't run any other ranger services fortunately but now I've got problems creating users. I've installed RAM server 2.1.0.70 on one of our 2008R2 Domain Controllers and installed the RAM client too. This seems to work ok but only on the server, when I try to run RAM client 2.1.0.70 on anything else, server or workstation it fails to connect to the RAM server with the error "Unable to connect to the RAM server in a timely manner" I'm sure I've seen this before but I can't remember the fix, can anyone help???? 2. I've got msi's for RAM Client back to 2.1.0.70 but these don't seem to contain migrate, the only old full ranger install I have is 7.4.3.0, this one doesn't seem to have RAM in the package at all, I seem to remember it was a separate download at that time. Looks like i need to find either a very old entire Ranger install else at least an old RAM client
  3. Cheers Fiza, that makes sense, any idea what ver I'd have to revert to and where to get it now, I think I deleted all the old install files.
  4. Hi First post in ages but I guess someone here will be able to answer this. We use Ranger 8.0, there used to be a tool called Ranger Migrate but I can't find it anymore, was it removed or just hidden? I need to migrate all my users to a new storage location on 2008r2 so I want to move all their data while preserving permissions and also changing user details in AD to reflect the new storage location. Ranger Migrate seemed to be the tool but if anyone can suggest a better route then I'm all ears. Thanks.
