Stop loggins when server is off.

Hi

 

i have a problem, all this week and maybe for a few weeks more i have some electrical work going off within my work place, so at night i have to turn my servers off whilst this work is in progress, now the trouble i have is, people are still loggin in, in a morning and not waiting for me to turn the servers back on,

 

obivously this gives them a temporary profile which is annoying as they have to save everything to a stick and restart and re log in etc.....

 

is there a GPO i can set to stop people loggin in on their profiles untill the servers are back up on line?

ive never had to do this before so i dont know what im looking for.

 

Im running a windows server 2008 R2 domain environment with windows 7 professional 64bit clients

 

any help is appriciated.

Its cached logins you want to disable as per - Interactive logon: Number of previous logons to cache (in case domain controller is not available)

Be aware this will have performance implications - specifically, logons will take longer because no caching will be used even when the servers are up. Staff who use the same machine routinely will notice the most difference. Also, the larger your user's profiles are, the more they will notice.
