Hi, I have designed a new website for school using an American company called WIX, the software is so easy to use, I love it. I am now ready to go live with the new site, however I want to use the old domain name ending with - .sch.uk -, but the I can only buy a domain ending with - .net. Can I redirect the .net name to the .sch.uk?

Do the schools LA own the sch.uk domain? Maybe contact them.

We had an outside agency design ours so i contacted Link2ICT and they edited their end...

There shouldn't be a need to buy a new domain - any web server can use any domain.

Basically, the DNS records for your sch.uk domain need altering to point at the server IP where your site is hosted. If its a shared server, the server host will need to ensure their web server is set up to point any traffic coming in on that domain at your site.

Also note, LEAs do not own .sch.uk domains. Your individual school does. If your LEA refuses to make changes you want, you can take control of it by contacting Nominet.

we transferred our .sch.uk domain onto our new host the IPS tag needs changing to what your new host tells you and they'll take control of it. It took a while for them to change the IPS tag mind but now it doesn't take weeks to make changes anymore:) or of course you can change the nameservers on the domain and leave it where it is Edited by rush_tech

Have wix improved for apple compatibility these days? When I had my website, because it was flash based it didn't work at all. They made a mobile friendly solution but it wasn't perfect. I do like the ease of use of their design interface though.
