Replacement for Sayno PLC XE-40

We are looking at replacing a couple for projector on our Promethean AB+2 boards (the orange Sanyo Short throw ones) possibilly with the LED ones. What ones would people recomend? and would they or the mount have to be retrofitted?

Depending on how proprietary the mount is, it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think anyone makes a short throw LED projector, but I could be wrong. Personally, I'd look at replacing the boards with touchscreens or interactive projectors in the near future, so look at the cost/benefit on that.

I can't find the thread but its been discussed before that RA Technology do a universal mount for promethan and smart boom arms:

Benq do a short-throw projector that should be suitable (its laser rather than LED but same concept). Just be aware the lens might be positioned differently on the replacement projector so check the mount allows some sideways adjustment.

One of these has just arrived on my desk. Nice big image from the short throw distance, but it is fairly large and quite a weight (just over 7kg) in comparison to the existing Sanyo and Promethean projectors.

 

Has anyone actually mounted one of these onto a Promethean boom?

Saw the new BenQ short throw the other day, which is quite nice, well priced, and can be bought with (or retrofitted very easily with) an interactive kit. This is pen-only, but there's also a finger-touch add-on.
