nev104 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 We are converting from an only rm domain to a vanilla domian and we rebuilt the domain during the move. Just a note this is an inherited network and had no documentation in the handover, we were only given the domain administrator password thats it! They had an RM Nas Box and it had loads of space on it so we though to use it as backup storage for our vmware containors and while removing it from the old domain I forgot to change the password on the local administrator account or create an admin account and locked myself out of the box bigggg blond moment
free780 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Maybe your brain just saw rm and went noooooooooo!
twin--turbo Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I did that once on a Dell Storage server although I was under the impression that I had the right non domain password. Downloaded a boot CD and set the local admin password in a couple of mins. Rob

Reboot into windows. Open Ease of access on the login screen and click magnifier, use your new administrator command prompt to open mmc.exe and then load the local users/groups snap in. Reset the password... Once done you need to use recovery cmd again to put magnify.exe.old back to magnify.exe.
