Permissions and Garageband

Have come across an annoying issue with Garageband files and wondering if anybody has a solution?

 

Pupils logon to the Mac with their domain credentials and start working on Garageband. The music department has a shared folder mapped to all the student computers for the pupils to save there work on, this folder is located on a Mac Pro and has permissions set. Word document and other files seem to be okay and can be opened by staff when the pupils place work on that share, however, when the pupil uploads a Garageband file or "package" it locks to the created user only and I have to manually reapply to permissions to open it up again.

We have had exactly the same issue. What we found was that there seems to be some issue with the folders that garageband automatically creates when opened for the first time by a domain user (this was version 10.0.1).

We dropped back to version 6.0.5 and everything was sweet.
