I have a small pile of random memory chips I have acquired over the years as systems have been upgraded.

 

Is it worth keeping anything less than 1GB these days or just bin it?

 

I've got 2 sticks of 256MB from laptops that is not really going to be of any use.

 

Suggestions.

Unless you know you have systems that can use the ram you have stock piled I'd dispose of it as it will just sit around forever.

It's just from where people have come to me and said sort my laptop out, its has ram upgrade and its just there collecting dust now.

 

I am just sorting through stuff as I will be moving out in next month or two so trying to sort out before I move it all!

Good idea @DaveP, I know I have a bigger pile of PC RAM some where, might have a play!

Laptop ram makes particularly good keyrings. Not only does it verify your geekness, it's excellent for opening boxes/tearing tape and a safer alternative than your house/car keys.

Put them on eBay. I had a 1GB stick of SD RAM sold it for £50.

 

Sold some 1GB DDR for £7 ish.

 

The older it is the more it worth!

Printers often use older ram too which might be another place to offload it and another driver of the price on eBay.

Never thought about that @SYNACK, remember years ago upgrading the HP ones when I was first working with computers. A school where I was helping out always used to have their HP ones upgraded!
