Squip Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Have just set up some Windows 7 clients on site running off a existing 2008r2 server, but I cant seem to do most things remotely from our server or between machines eg. Event Viewer > Connect to another computer VAMT 2.0 > Update computer info Beginning Sophos installation from Enterprise Console over AD .. everything is 'Access is Denied' or similar Google is pointing towards DCOM problems and how to troubleshoot, but everything seems to be fine with that except for running the DCOM diagnostics which is saying 'Access is Denied' Can Ping fine, have also double checked IP settings. Group policy also applying fine Strangely enough it all works fine on Windows XP machines, or if the program lets me use alternative credentials to connect I can use the local administrator accounts to access the machines fine. Anyone have any ideas? It would be very much appreciated!
Squip Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 Windows Firewall. - turn it off. Is disabled on server and client. Also, can't RDP to client with domain admin account, but can with others
Squip Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 Never mind, discovered that domain admins weren't made part of the local admins when joining the domain for whatever reason, even if the client left and re-joined the domain. Weird
