agarabaghi Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Has anyone used these drives and deployed an image to them... anything special needed to be done?
localzuk Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 We didn't use WDS/MDT in my last school for deployment, we just used Fog. There's nothing special that needs doing in my experience!
SYNACK Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 If its like the Seagate ones its just another drive no difference to the os side at all.
agarabaghi Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 Awesome, would you say there was a speed improvement?
localzuk Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Massive speed improvement. Imaging from Fog took about 50% less time on them compared to their spinning disk equivalents.
agarabaghi Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 wow! awesome. What about after imaging... do you notice boot times or login times being fast enough that a non guru user would notice?
localzuk Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Yeah, massive difference. Startup times are way down. Login times are pretty much unaffected (as they're dictated by the network really), but programs run faster etc...
