We have an issue here with storing archive files from outlook.

As it stands, we store them on the user's home directory. This is fine for the majority of people. For example, my archives have worked perfectly for a good 7 years without any issues. However, some users forever have issues with the files corrupting.

One of those users is the Head Teacher. One of his archive files has suddenly gone from 3GB+ to 20MB in size. And as he has taken a while to notice it isn't working properly, I am struggling to find a working copy of the file, as it was created fresh not too long ago.

How do other schools who use external Exchange servers with Outlook handle this?

Don't they off archives? This is fairly an old service offering now....it comes as standard in most places that are up to date....
