• More computers. There's a lot of money in computers.

• Aren't phones computers these days? Include them as well.

• The classics should be emphasised. Children should not be allowed to touch a computer until they can work an abacus first.

• Computers could replace teachers couldn't they? This would be good; teachers are a pain and need money and keep telling me I'm doing things wrong. Computers never do that.

I actually like Gove, especially his views on IT in schools and the curriculum, not all schools are lucky enough to have progressive teachers teaching IT. A lot of schools still have teachers teaching IT who would not know what an SSD was if you mailed the description to them in a Union letter, and have no interest in learning to teach anything other than word and excel.

More often than not in primary schools. I agree that the ICT curriculum doesn't go far enough and there's far too much focus on creating PowerPoint presentations but you're definitely trolling. Nobody LIKES Gove.

You have not seen the IT teachers in our school then. They are awful, the Head of Department came to ask me how thy find a user manual online for Scratch, really, if you can not work that out for yourself you should not be teaching IT let alone heading a department.

My post is not to say that all teachers are like that, there are a lot of hardworking good teacher, but conversely there are also a lot who are not, anything the Government can do to get rid of the latter is great IMHO.

I want it on the record that I DON'T love teachers when they give me unnecessary work to do because they don't listen.

 

I've got nothing against people who actually have problems with IT.

 

If I have to show you something simple [like "click this to get your emails"] 3 times in a week... you're an idiot.
