Hi

Apologies if this has been posted before ....I can't see anything.

Pupils have discovered (I gather an old trick) that a hyperlink placed in a word document (2007) can get them to the machine 'C' drive that they do not normally have access to. NOT a massive issue ( and I can't see that it gets them any other accesses to our system). But SLT nervous and want it closed down. Anyone know of a way?

Thanks

There's no 100% bulletproof method of stopping students viewing the local hard drive, so I'd suggest to your SLT that the time spent worrying about that could be better spent on making sure that what they do see on there is properly secured. That's what we do.

I tested last night and it didn't seem to work for me. Just type some text right click hyperlink and address is c:. Clicked link, and I got an error
