Hi

We have last month deleted a user account from AD which has obviously resulted in the deletion of the mailbox. I would normally go into disconnected mailbox and re-connect it to a temporary account etc.

Anyway the disconnected mailbox retention has passed so my question: how do I know which database the mailbox was in so that I can restore a backup of the database then restore the mailbox. Just to clarify the restore of the database and mailbox I am fine with, I just need to know how to identify the database when no user acct exists?

Thanks

I hope you haven't got a lot of DB that you have to go through.

What you can do is restore the AD object or depending on the AD version restore the user from recyclebin. Failing that, you can check message tracking logs, IIRC it may show you the store it was delivered too Or worst case scenario, restore AD to an isolated env and check the users attributes for homeserver/DB
