tmcd35 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Any got plans to buy underwater homes? BBC News - Underwater wi-fi given test run to create 'deep-sea internet' Weeelll, now you mention it. I'm just waiting for my Euromillions winnings to clear the bank then I do have an amazing bond villan style hideout all planned out. I was hoping that no one noticed my fibre cables running along the beach though, and I'm thinking standard wifi inside the domes. Not sure what I'd use this new tech for? I suppose it'd give me Internet coverage in the garden, just need a tablet rated for 20,000 leagues
Sunnyknight Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 How about you share the winnings with me? We'll make an empire underwater like in G.I.Joe Retaliation
tmcd35 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I would, you know I would, but I do need to make sure I can afford the helipad disguised as a disused oil rig complete with preassurised lift to alpha dome. Then there is the maglev uni-rail train system and connecting tunnels between alpha dome, beta dome and the west wing. It all costs money you know

Then there is the maglev uni-rail train system and connecting tunnels between alpha dome, beta dome and the west wing. It all costs money you know Why do i get the feeling you're not even going to have ONE room just for me? I'd prefer being in the Beta Dome. However, i need the uni-rail system to be no further than 10m from my room. Also, in which area will the submarines be docked? Need to visit land every so often for experiments on humans,,, Its going to be re-branded as the world wide net. Lol! Love it xD No. ... Jellyfish, so far as i know, have been kept at bay by @tmcd35 using his smexy odor. However, a few of the jellies have developed an immunity to this, so rapid action may need to be taken.

You are right, we both know you are right. But mentioning it public may make me rethink renting out the granny annex with specail cold store for your human experiments (I won't ask). I have been thinking of giving to a hare krishna cult instead... Also, in which area will the submarines be docked? Funny you should mention submarines. I'm actually finding very difficult to source one. I ask for a nuclear powered sub and no-one bats an eyelid. I mention the colour I want and they think I'm taking the p*ss. It's not as if I want to live on it! That's what the secret(?) underwater base is for... Edited October 17, 2013 by tmcd35
sonofsanta Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I have to wonder what effect this would have on whales, dolphins etc. I hate to be the hippy here, but I know sound causes issues for (say) river dolphins in the Yangtze, and sonar can cause grief as well. On a related note, today I have learnt that...before ship traffic noise permeated the oceans, tones emitted by fin whales could have traveled as far as four thousand miles and still be heard against the normal background noise of the sea... on a quiet day in the pre–ship-propeller oceans, fin whale tones would only have fallen to the level of background noise after traveling thirteen thousand miles, that is, more than the diameter of the Earth. Which is pretty damn cool.

That's what the secret(?) underwater base is for... I think a cold store would be beneficial. However, if the costs exceed the output profit from the tests done, then it's pointless. I may just head north and grab an iceberg. Shouldn't be too much hassle... then again... I guess asking for a nuke sub may be a little hard to get. I know someone near the Russian base who sells them for dirt cheap, providing we offer them Alpha dome. I guess we could ask for a trade off of 5 subs for the dome? I'll help you build another dome, and we'll also have subs. Win win situation, i guess. It's up to you, you're running the show, i'm just a part of it. Either way, this will in turn help shift the iceberg and save money. this underwater empire shall be called eud-rapture. a home to all edugeeks and it will be free of stupid questions like "i cant find word or iv lost my work, what was it called?" The empire is a tmcdknight empire. You cannot replace it with codswallop. However, after a few years, and expansion, we may be able to accommodate other edugeeks. This is again, up to tcmd.

I may just head north and grab an iceberg. Shouldn't be too much hassle... then again... I was eyeing up a mid Pacific location, maybe near a fault line to tap in to a heat/energy source. I think the iceberg might have melted long before it gets back to base I guess asking for a nuke sub may be a little hard to get. No, not at all. It's only when I mention the colour I want people look at me a bit funny! The empire is a tmcdknight empire. You cannot replace it with codswallop. A secret bond villan hideout. I suppose every good bond villan needs an army of goons, I can have my own private army of techs

I suppose every good bond villan needs an army of goons, I can have my own private army of techs As an added benefit, employing technicians as underlings means that any incursions would be dealt with quickly, quietly and without fuss or expectation of glory. No showboating in front of the secret agent; just strategically placed Portal turrets built from Raspberry Pi boards guarding mathematically optimised fields of fire across all potential entrances with relevant failsafes and backup systems. Defence in depth, as server security courses teach. There'll also be no easily guessable passwords or unlocked terminals with secret plans stored in shared folders with poor access permissions. All USB ports will be disconnected on the motherboard and CD burners will be configured to instead of writing whatever files were requested.

Miscbrah Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 A secret bond villan hideout. You're in luck actually as I'm a secret super-criminal hideout consultant. I can be hired for £10k/day and expenses and need an office. /Academy strategy.

X-13 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 An office... under the sea? Darling it's better, down where it's wetter. Take it from me.
tmcd35 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 An office... under the sea? I am thinking about commissioning an industrial wing with rental office space. Funnilly enough, £10k per day. Bargin considering the sceanic views of Box Jeallyfish on offer

Mmm, this was supposed to be a retire present for myself. A secret bond villan hideout. I suppose every good bond villan needs an army of goons, I can have my own private army of techs Hm... there's too much 'heat' around the pacific. Head further north or south. We'll be safer there. Energy can be made from boiling the ice and using the steam to heat thermal engines. This way, i can keep SOME icebergs (i need them!) and you can have all the heat you want. Colour? Pay an extra fee of £100,000 and they'll shut up. Now now, sharing is caring, but limited to me only. Who these other goons are, i don't know. Know this, i got your back. Do they? Can they be trusted? However.... @sonofsanta seems to be a interesting prospect. I may need to do some 'tests' on him to see how good he is. Agreed?
