Perplexing problem connecting through ISA 2006

We have just had all of our boarding students in & have now configured their laptops to use the ISA server for their connection. Of these 150 laptops 2 of them are unable to browse using the proxy. The strange thing is that the Antivirus updates through the proxy & the laptops connect fine if I bypass the proxy. Both laptops are German build windows XP Pro & as I don't understand German I am struggling with the event logs. Has anyone else come across this issue & found a resolution?
