Hi all,

Following on from my VLAN disaster and SWGfL; thanks to all those who responded and PM'd me with help, advice and counselling! :)

I now need to look at purchasing somesort of Firewall / NAT /Router device that will enable me to VLAN up my network, this time resorting to using our own private address range. Some one did recommend something from the CISCO RV range and someone has also recommended a SonicWall system. I'm not after loads of fancy features and something that requires subscriptions, not expensive but just good enough to do the job.

Again, thanks in advance.

Use pfsense its free, all you need is an old machine or even a VM.

Pfsense is a firewall/router.

pfSense Open Source Firewall Distribution - Home

Have to admit to using things like pfSense, M0n0wall and ipCop quite a few years back but really want something thats more 'off the shelf' if you see what I mean? Don't really want something so critical running on older hardware. But, I'll take another look.
