speckytecky Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 We currently have a Dell Power Edge 840 Tower Server that has Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP2, 2.4 Dual Core CPU, 2GB of RAM. 150GB HD Partitioned as a 30.5 GB OS and the remainder as Data. Backup Device on board is DAT72! The machine was running SIMS but is now redundant but it’s still got some life in it and I want to explore the options of putting some upgrades in it, a new OS on and using it to venture into virtual and Moodle (both new territory to me) as we currently don’t have a VLE. Any advice on this would be very welcome.
mats Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Vmware esxi on bare metal (£free), vSphere to manage it (£free). Add whatever OSs you want.
