Turning off sync center

Good Morning guys.

 

Recently I've been asked to turn off sync centre on workstation in a school as it slows down the the pcs. Is this true? We are using group policies to redirect users home folders.

if its always in the school its pointless its only of use to roaming pcs

no pcs that go off site but still need my docs etc

there are GPO for offline files under both the user and local computer look for "Offline Files". (Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files)

also be worth checking that the actual users folders have the offline option switched off as by default i believe it sets it to "let the user decide".

 

also if mobsync is in the Run part of the registry kill that as well.
