Now I know a lot of you are probably already aware of this but Ubuntu is soon to available to some Android Devices.

 

Canonical are officially releasing Ubuntu Touch on the following devices:

 

Galaxy Nexus

Nexus 4

Nexus 7

Nexus 10

 

However some of the clever so-and-so's over at XDA have begun porting the images over to other devices:

I have the SGS2 - GT-i9100 and am going to be trying this very shortly. I am hoping to Dual-Boot as the Calls/SMS portion of the image doesn't work at the minute but I have to say it all looks very impressive.

 

Anyone feel like trying it and reporting back their impressions/experiences??

im tempted to flash my Nexus 7 with it.....might wait until there are some reviews on functionality tho

I havent flashed my Nexus 4 yet with it, some bits still arent functional on it, it wouldnt be my daily driver.

Well, i've took the plunge. It is VERY smooth!! There are some issues with it as a daily rom but I can see this being big!

 

The hardware buttons at the bottom of my phone don't work and it's quite strange learning how to navigate it without them and I can't figure out how to access my SD Cards, but all in all it's a very nice OS to use. Now to figure out how to restart my phone......
