Chromebook Management -more settings???

Evening All,

 

I have just been having a play with the Management Console and its a bit....ermmm..weak.

 

I may be missing something but I can't see how to

 

• stop users changing settings (incl wireless)
  
• Brand the screen globally with a theme
  
• Deploy cloud printers
  

 

Any advise from Googleheads?

To add wireless settings go to Chrome Management > Network > Add Wifi

 

We had to add wireless settings for both user and device to get around the "allow proxy on shared networks" tick box - This basically locks down the settings.

 

Where not using cloud print at the moment but I have had it working guide below might be helpful?

As to the globally branded theme I'm not sure but would be interested in this also!

We're using Google Cloud Print with cloud-ready and classic printers. I am using Chrome on the print server to share the classic printers at the moment, but intend to install the service at some point: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/cloudprintservice

 

It's worth noting that when sharing a printer with a group, a group owner will need to accept the share on behalf of the group (from the Google cloud print page) before it will be accessible to users.

If I wanted to share it will everyone can I use a wildcard? I thought this would work but its not listing for the kids.

I've haven't had to share anything with everyone, but creating such a group sounds easy enough: Create a group with everyone in your organization - Google Apps Help
