Stevecee Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Hi We are just at the start of our planning for moving to our new school in about 18 months. What do people think, should we be looking at interactive white boards or interactive plasma displays? My inclination is to move toward interactive displays but I don't want to ge it wrong we will have to live with these for a long time. Thanks in advance Steve
jmak Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 There was a very long thread on here a few months ago which went into a lot of the pros and cons. The first thing I'd say is wait as long as possible if you're going for flat panels as the price is still coming down fast. The biggest issue that we would have moving away from Smartboards is not being able to use the smart notebook software that the teachers are so heavily into. The same is true of promethean and the others. There are free alternatives and some of the screens come their own software bundled. You can buy the licences separately, but that is prohibitively expensive. From what I've seen, the screens themselves seem a much better option: No shadows, brighter, cheaper to install, lower maintenance, longer life...
Trillion11 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 The BenQ interactive range come with 3 years free collaborative Smart Notebook License.
