Good Afternoon chaps, A local school I assist is looking at buying 2 of the 55" Promethean ActivPanel's. Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on them. I know the interactive panels are much of a muchness these days so any input greatly appreciated! Cheers, Trill

Has anybody found any decent Chromebook cases or bags? We have a handful of C720's at the moment.

Hi Chaps, We have 35 android devices in a school i support. I can open the play store and install apps on them manually and the install works fine. However the app should install on all devices automatically which is what we want. I can only imagine this function is being blocked via the web filtering/firewall because if i take a handful of them home and connect them to my broadband the apps start auto install pretty much instantly. The school use a proxy server provided & managed by the LA for internet access. Has anyone had this problem before or know what i need to have unblocked/filtered to get this working in school? Thanks!

I look after several primary schools using ipads. Some are doing great things with them and some not so much... We use appple configurator in most of them with VPP and a Mac mini with osx server installed to manage them. 3 of my schools have charge sync trollies, 2 of them keep their ipads in folio cases and take them out to charge. The other school use some snazzy protective cases (they fit in the charge/sync trolley) that they discovered at the Bett show from a crowd called max cases based in the states. In a further update, the school has been told if they go independant with the curriculum they will still have to pay the full £3700 pipe charge for the admin alone. So it looks like we will be looking at going completely independent now eeek!

Just got off the phone with a nice chap at the authority and he explained their solution would be A Citrix login using a key fob with and rdp link on the applications list.

Cheers Ryan, much appreciated! We are in the very early stages at the moment. I'm due to call our local authority this afternoon to discuss. The main reason the school is thinking of stopping the authority internet service is to allow teachers access to a terminal server from home.

Is that £3200 per year or the combined cost for the 3 year term?

Morning Chaps, I work for a managed service provider. I have just been asked by one of my Primary schools about the possibilities of getting their own broadband connection, firewalls and filtering etc... Just wondering have any of you gone through this process with a primary? If you are will to disclose your planning procedure/notes for this that would also be a great help. This will be my first school becoming "independent" of the LEA in terms of the curriculum network. I do have some very good tech's above me but i would like to be able to provide some input of my own during the planning process. What red tape could i/school face if this is implemented? best isp? Best firewall/filtering solution? Any input greatly appreciated!

Good Morning Chaps, Our school is currently do its emergency planning as we are under a flight path. I have been asked if it's possible to send Emergency messages to teacher laptops if the need arises. This is more in case an undesirable infiltrates the school rather than an aviation disaster! The teacher laptops are all Windows 7 and i wondered if you guys have any ideas? Thanks in advance, Matt

I look after 14 primary's so if i can get it performing for the few it will benefit the many! I don't get school holidays off either :-(
