cgiuk Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Hi Guys, I'm interested to see what you guys think about this. I have a static html website running no CMS at all. I need to add a calendar of upcoming events and dates that can be easily updated by a non technical user. Has anyone done that kind of thing before and if so, how did you do it? I've thought about creating a single page joomla site but it seems like overkill. Thanks
cgiuk Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 Can you embed a google calendar into a website though? I need to continue the site's style and colour scheme.
MkII Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 The client side app would need to do the clever stuff and hold the date - ok if you only had one person updating it - is that the case?
FN-GM Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 use calendarix here is an example of it in practise at a school (hope you don't mind beeswax) http://www.falingepark.com/index.php?page=school-calendar
cgiuk Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 Thanks for the reply..there are going to have to be a couple of users updating it. I can create as many SQL databases as I need so if that helps.
FN-GM Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 with calendaris you can make amny user accounts easly
cgiuk Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 cool..thanks for that. I'll have a look at it.
contink Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I'm assuming you're not using this with a forum otherwise I'd offer my own code... There's plenty of options out there though.. http://php.resourceindex.com/Complete_Scripts/Calendars/ (Yep, that's mine on top but it's phpbb2 required)
