[sims] Error on SIMS Server during login

The following is an error affecting one of our schools. It only occurs on the SIMS server when logging into the SIMS client. SIMS woks fine for everyone else in school.

 

 

I'm logged in as a domain admin, I've done a complete clean reinstall of the SIMS .net client and the .NET 4 framework and am running out of ideas. SupportNet have no solutions to this either. The same error also comes up when logging into SOLUS2 to download and apply a patch.

 

Any suggestions?

Check if cscui.dll is in C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 ?

 

If it isnt, I suppose you can copy and paste it from another machine that has it?

 

EDIT: It appears to be a core service of Windows, Maybe try running sfc and repairing the DLLs if its missing

The DLL file is there. Tried re-registering the DLL with no luck.

I have checked the Temp folder and as far as I can see, we have full permissions to it. I'll check tomorrow after the reboot and if I have no luck, go back to it.

Sometimes being domain admin isn't enough, you need 2 BE Administrator plus explicit permissions can help too.
