Server 2012 Services: One Vital Service Not Accessible Via Services.MSC?

I have a virtual server running Windows Server 2012 Standard where one of the services is not listed when I run Services.msc [screen prints follow]

 

Running Services.msc I get this view:

The service I am currently interested in is only listed when I right click the taskbar, select Task Manager and select the Services tab from there:

This is an issue because the service I am interested in is stopping too often and I can't set it to auto restart from this interface after it has stopped. When the service was running on a physical 2008 server it was listed in the first listing [and when I first installed the service on the virtual service that is where I found it. It is only recently that it has [spontaneously?] moved to the second listing.

 

What has happened? How can I get this service to restart automatically after it has stopped when it should not?

Which service? Can you use net start/stop or powershell to access it, should be able to set it via powershell, sc /? is another thing to run. Any av on there, it may have been detected as a protected service and the Av may be messing with it, Symantec Endpoint does that with some services which is a pain.
