Looking for a cheap android tablet - 10" screen for my aged father.

 

I got him an old Archos job - but its so slow its a a real pain to use - can anyone recommend a decent-ish low end (ie no more that £150) tab?

You could look at the Samsung Tab 3 10" or Asus Google Nexus tablet. May be slightly above £150, but these are good options for what you're looking for.

Cheers - think I might have solved my own problem as I found the Nook HD+ is going for £129 nowadays - and looks great as they've unlocked all the bits that were previously restricted

Just to say the nexus 10 is due a refresh soon. The next 7 is amazing although you have gone for the nook.

Nah - it was much older - a 101 I think

I've just bought a 32G Nexus 7 (old one) new, whose price had been slashed and I don't know how they've improved it, it is seriously good.

Done and dusted now thanks - though thinking of grabbing one of the Nook Simples (if I can find one) and rooting it - be quite cool for a little android browser with a battery life of weeks
