Stopping Audio Being Muted

Ok so our music tech room, contant calls down there to fix "sound problems" and most of them are machines being muted. Is there a way of disabling people from muting the Sound but still have control over volume in the task bar, or resetting the Sound to Unmute on logon?

 

It is a 2k3 Vanilla Network With XP sp2 Clients.

I reset the sound on login using NirCmd. See this previous thread on the subject.

Additionally, I hide the tray icons and the control panel for pupils, so they can't fiddle with the settings. You can do this bit with GPO settings.

We've gone a step further and denied NTFS access to the volume control app for pupils - as I suspect I will be forced to give them back the notification area.

 

We use NIRCMD to reset the volumes at login and NTFS permissions to stop them accessing volume controls - of course they can still change it but it only lasts 1 session and then resets.
