Hi All,

After locking down our student profile pretty hard and also adding some GPP reg edits to stop them browsing the network through office 'Save As' or 'Places' bar (hoping none of them know \\server hyperlink trick), we now have an irritating issue where when they click on 'Open' and a warning box (and sound) comes up and says Operation cancelled - A policy is in effect blah, blah, blah...

This can be clicked OK and nothing untoward happens and they can still access their home drive, but I would rather it didn't.

We do not have any Office 2007 ADM files for GPO's that I know of, no redirects and nothing that I can think of that affects Office directly. The GPP's were just to stop it asking for initials and help screen at the beginning and to hide the network and such in the places bar.

Does anyone know what Office is trying to do in its default behaviour when clicking 'Open' that may now be restricted?

Kol.
