Hi all,

perhaps I'm just having a bad morning but I can't see anyway to do this.

If you add the "Behaviour today" column to a register, you get shown a count of behaviour incidents for each student. Whilst this is quite useful, it would be infinitely more useful if rather than a count of incidents, it actually showed total points.

Is there any way of doing that, or am I going to have to raise a CR?

CR - but i'd probably only +1 it, as it would cripple the system.

Better off running a report, or using the conduct chart on homepage, though it doesn't apply to timetable subjects.

I don't think so Vik - presumably it currently does something along the lines of "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM Table Where Date=Today", it'd simply need to be changed to return the sum of points which is presumably stored in the same table so simply "SELECT SUM(Points) FROM Table Where Date=Today"... shouldn't even notice a difference. [bTW - that's very much pseudo!]

I hate to say it, but I have to agree with the teachers on this one, it'd be much more convenient to see it in the register. Certain Behaviour incidents here are merely for info and follow ups so carry zero points. Others are for fights or truancy and carry high points. As it stands, a student who has been warned for forgetting equipment will look exactly like one who has been had up for fighting until you drill down.

Go on, gimme a +2 ;)

I've seen the SQL on some patches and procs and it wouldn't never be that straight forward, but yes the end result should be a switch from count to sum, but it's bad enough getting a report to collate that sort of info.

All the same - i'm thinking it would be good so gimme a # and i'll give +2
