Samsung printer ML-2545 'not genuine' message on new printer

We bought a Samsung ML-2545 printer a while ago and it sat in our store room for quite a while before it was taken out of the box to use. It has never worked. When I plugged it in and tried to print, a message came up saying that the toner is not genuine. I would hope that the toner is genuine since it is the one that came with the printer. Anyway we bought a new toner or it and the same message came up when I tried to print.

 

 

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with genuine toners. Is there some thing inside the printer that I can try to clean or replace?

 

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.
