broadld Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Hi there, I know this might be a silly question but i couldnt find any documentation on the upgrade process. Could anyone also shed any light on what protocols and authentication processes Home access plus actually uses to share the files over https? Is it webDav that is used in the background? Thanks David
calwyn Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Hi David. When I have upgraded in the past, all I have done is: 1. Take a copy of your existing HAP folder... you can always put this back if it all goes wrong. 2. Unzip the update files into a TEMPORARY location. 3. Copy the update files from the temporary folder into the HAP folder, allowing them to replace any files. 4. Just for good measure, restart IIS..... then test. Hope this helps
nickbro Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 It uses pure HTTPS, no WebDAV, ASP.net Request Routing forward the nice looking URL to the correct API which then initiates a HTTP file transfer. WebDAV can stop HAP+ from working in some environments.
broadld Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 Hi guys, Thanks for this. Copy and paste worked fine just came across an internal error but found another post that had a fix for this. Thanks David
