Hi!

Im taking over a network, and there is a minefield when it comes to GPO's!

OK here is my issue:

New printers work fine if an admin logs on adds the printer manually and installs the drivers from the network. However if the printers is pushed out via GPO for a user UNLESS the drivers are already installed no printer, if an admin logs on installs the drivers all fine.

If the user wants to add the printer manually, within the network (this will be locked down once all working) it asks do you Trust this Printer, the user clicks yes, it states its copying the drivers (you see the progress bar) but at the end nothing no printer and looks like no drivers.

Im aware of a GPO for software restrictions but cant find any logs to see if its another GPO blocking the installation, I have added the printer server path, and even disabled the GPO for Software Restriction.

It just the drivers i need to push out, any help would be appreciated :-)

Thanks!

Steve

You can set trough GPO. You have to install Remote Server Administration Tools in some Windows 7 workstation. Take a look at this chapter "4. Preparation and Configuration for Windows 7 “Point and Print Restrictions” Policy: " at the above link.
