8.1 Release date announced

Just got an email from Microsoft TechNet letting us all know that the 8.1 update will be rolled out as of October the 18th. And (joy of joys for @SYNACK) the distribution begins in New Zealand

Server 2012 R2 is out at the same time

Woo... Been considering upping our 2008R2 servers to 2012 before the kids start back this year. Think the DFS improvements alone may well make it worth waiting. That would coincide rather nicely with October half term
