How do I make the Start Menu behave more like the one in Server 2012?

Does anyone know if there is a way to change the behaviour of the Start Menu/Screen/TIFKAM so that when I install new Programs, their shortcuts appear afterwards in the Menu rather than having to pin them manually?

 

I've noticed that Server 2012 does this by default but Windows 8 relies on me to add them in myself everytime I install something new.

I'm not sure to be honest - my Windows 8 does add icons to the end/far right of the start screen when I install things. Long shot, but you don't have any redirection or anything do you?

Nope, It's a fresh install. I might just try reinstalling in case something odd happened during the install.

 

I also noticed while testing 8.1 that this behaves the same way too, but that's probably due to a change they've made to it.
