bmtt Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Hi All, I'm having an issue with My Outlook Web App for my Exchange Server 2010. When the user visits OWA, they can log in, read emails, reply to emails, view calendars etc but when they try to look at the GAL (Global Address List) or click on the "To" button in a new email, they get the following error: "An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled." When you ask to see more details of the error message, you get the following: "Request Url: http://mydomain.sch.uk:80/owa/forms/...0251_913713053 User host address: ???.???.???.??? User: My Name EX Address: /o=Domain/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=MyName305 SMTP Address: [email protected] OWA version: 14.2.247.5 Mailbox server: EXCHANGE.mydomain.sch.uk Exception Exception type: System.NullReferenceException Exception message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Many Thanks
bmtt Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) Just an update to this: I tried logging in using the "Light' version of OWA (designed for low bandwidth users), attempting to open the Address Book and this works fine, so it's only using the standard version of OWA. Not sure if this makes any difference to the solution to this issue. If someone could help that would be great. Thanks Edited August 14, 2013 by bmtt
bmtt Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 Hi Everyone, I'm still having this issue and was curious if anyone had any ideas. Many Thanks.
AceDaz Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Is this when accessing webmail internal or externally? What SP and RU version are you on? Does your OAB work ok when running Outlook 2010 in NON cached mode?
hummingtech Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 OWA addressbook error Looks like your error - solution is ADSIEdit of msExchResourceAddressList - which you can always put back if necessary.
JoeBloggs Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Check your AutoDiscover is configured correctly
RobBaxter Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ is your friend. I spent 1 hour and this website until EVERYTHING ticked Green. I fixed like a boat load of errors. If it still doesn't work after that, i do have some other tricks up my sleeve. Let me know after you have made sure everything is setup right. Also FYI, School Agreement applicable. Goto 2012 ASAP, from a "external / internal" standpoint i think personally it's far better. Also, Since Office 365 is soon to be covered by said agreement (for the level up from free to education), I am giving serious thoughts to implementing a hybrid "On Site / Cloud" infer-structure for this. Anyways ... thats a little derail of you topic. Appologies! Let me know if you fixed after you run through this trouble shooter. If it's still broken I know some places to look.
bmtt Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 Many thanks, problem solved! Thanks for all your help, greatly appreciated.
